Inspirations

I am tremendously inspired by artisans all over the world, who use the materials at hand, whether natural or human made, to create objects of magnificent beauty, both for everyday and celebration days.

I am grateful to mentors and teachers, colleagues and friends, as well as the countless students of all ages, with whom I have been privileged to work. They have led me down paths of discovery I may never have found on my own.

Working with dye on cloth has been a passion for many years and I greatly enjoy the process of exploration and experimentation. The beauty of the natural world is an endless source of inspiration in the variations of color, pattern and light. Currently, I am immersed in experimentation with plant dyes, all extracted from plant materials harvested from my own garden or the gardens of friends.
